In Germanic and Slavic folklore, a "mare" (or "maere") is a malevolent entity that walks on people’s chests while they sleep, bringing on nightmares. The third album by post-metal band Terrestre (Madrid) is their darkest landscape yet—an instrumental soundscape that moves between the placid and the abrupt. For this design, I used the collage technique, composing a monochromatic scene out of paper textures, ink floating in water, and rusted pieces of metal. I also designed a new symbol for the band, formed from the two Ts in their name.
