This portrait reflects the resilience we find in ourselves after enduring painful experiences. Inspired by many conversations with my friend María S., where we supported each other through difficult times, the piece symbolizes how we overcame what once tormented us by continuing to fight and care for ourselves. The imagery weaves together thorns that wound and entangle, the ume tree renowned for its endurance, a fallen bird unable to fly, and a lantern—echoing the light of Candela, the latest album by Svdestada.
